HOT & BOTHERED



The Brief:


For this project I had the opportunity to work independently: gather research, create a purposeful idea and design a chosen concept, along with publishing three final outcomes, on a topic of my choice.




 



The menopause affects every woman at some point in their life. Yet, still there is so little media coverage and support. Although there has been a growth in conversations surrounding the menopause, the resources available to my consumer follow the same stereotypical template which groups them together, with a repetitive tone of voice and visual identity. These insights, along with the undeniable agesim which most menopausal women face, inspired my idea (displayed upper right).
   



The process:



In order to reach my consumer in the most effective way possible, I chose to communicate with them through the media forms of: An instagram account, an advert and finally a podcast. It was imperative that each of these outcomes where authentic and connected to the issues my consumer is facing. A humorous tone of voice was implemented to break the stigma surrounding the menopause, along with tapping into the consumers undeniable witty sence of humour.
